SIS Myanmar’s Historical First Month

The Beginning Of An Amazing Journey

Even during the most challenging public health crisis of our lifetime we are excited and proud to reach an important milestone. We are now at the end of our first month as Yangon’s newest international school and the community spirit is already as strong as any I have seen in over 20-years in education around the world.

Despite the increased challenges we all face from the global pandemic we are a fast-growing school and our beautiful campus is 100% ready to welcome students in grand fashion when the government declares it is safe for the children of Yangon to attend school again. The safety and security of your children is our number one priority.

Thankfully, one of our core values is “innovation”, and we take this seriously at the SIS Group of Schools. We have applied this to our distance learning program which is already winning accolades from parents and students.

Audery obviously has the right attitude and has mastered the distance learning tools.

We honor the greatness of legacy, retain the best elements of tradition, but we embrace change and the prospects of a richer learning experience for our students. Education has changed forever. The SIS Myanmar community is proving we are up for the challenge.

So we celebrate a month of SIS Myanmar with all of you, but we still have so much more to look forward to. When we return to school, we will return to Yangon’s newest landmark and I’m excited to share some images of our freshly completed facilities.

We have come such a long way and it is satisfying to see our plans for an amazing campus executed.

The Multipurpose Hall (MPH) will be a place for sports, events and large gatherings.

The Aquatic Centre will certainly become a popular place for both exercise and to cool off during Yangon’s hot afternoons.

When our students come back we look forward to the sounds of athletic competition in our brand new covered sports pitch.

This is what you will have to look forward to when we return. And we will return. Stay safe and stay healthy. Study hard. Savor every moment even if the times are challenging. Let’s use this experience as an opportunity to build our character rather than live in fear. We will come out stronger for it in the end. The future may be uncertain but SIS Myanmar has already begun preparing students to face the 21st century with fortitude and confidence.
