Overview

SIS Bona Vista is located in a popular area of South Jakarta, with many facilities in the area. Our curriculum is based upon The Singapore Curriculum in our Primary Section,  the Cambridge International Curriculum in the Secondary Section and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is followed by our Junior College students. Our core programme also reflects the local needs of our student body. External Examinations are available at IGCSE and the IB Diploma Programme and student progression supported by Checkpoint tests.

Head of English

We are seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Head of English to lead our motivated team. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the strategic leadership of this crucial area of the curriculum and fulfill a reduced teaching commitment within the Secondary and Junior College Sections. Additionally they will join a creative and supportive Middle Leadership Group, playing a key role in improvement of the school. All our teaching staff are expected to be fully involved in the life of the school.

 

This is an exciting time to join SIS Bona Vista and we welcome applications from either experienced Heads of Department or those who are perhaps looking for an opportunity to secure their initial management position. Ideal candidates will be well qualified Secondary teachers with a sound knowledge and understanding of effective teaching of English within the guidance the Cambridge International Education and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Extended Essay guidance and TOK experience would be a distinct advantage.

 

We invite dedicated and suitably qualified candidates to join us Head of English, the ideal candidate will:

  • Exercise consultative leadership a strong desire to develop an outstanding department by creating a culture where learning is greatly valued by all
  • Possess the ability to inspire, motivate, challenge, support and empower students in their care
  • Be committed to raising the standards of attainment and progress students make in KS3/Checkpoint, IGCSE English First Language and English Literature and IBDP Language and Literature
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of raising attainment both at a classroom and department level and will ideally have successful experience of leading and managing a team of teachers.
  • Be willing to contribute to wider school initiatives and the curriculum

English as a Second or Other Language Coordinator

This is a newly created position and the successful applicant will act as an ESOL coordinator for P2 to Sec 4 students. We use GL Education CAT4 and NGRT standardised tests to evaluate the English ability of every student and those with a reading age more than 2 years lower than their chronological age will be enrolled in the ESOL program. The ESOL Coordinator will liaise with parents, form teacher, subject teachers and other ESOL teachers to provide carefully managed intervention plans through pull-out and after school classes. The ESOL Coordinator will teach many of these classes but will be supported by other English teachers as well.

Preschool Teacher Assistant (Local position)

Teacher assistants are a vital part of our Preschool program and the role is a good career path to becoming a teacher. Diligence and kindness are critical and the ability to hold simple conversations in English is essential.

Hinduism local teacher with Indonesian government teaching certification

We are looking for a local teacher with a relevant degree and certified by the Indonesian Ministry of Education to teach Hinduism. We will consider both full and part-time candidates and we will consider assisting with relocation.
