SIS Bona Vista is located in a popular area of South Jakarta, with many facilities in the area. English Teacher (IGCSE)

We are seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic English Teacher. The successful candidate will take responsibility for this crucial area of the curriculum and fulfill a reduced teaching commitment within the Secondary and Junior College Sections. Additionally they will join a creative and supportive Middle Leadership Group, playing a key role in improvement of the school. All our teaching staff are expected to be fully involved in the life of the school.

Principal

Principal is responsible for overall Leadership of the School for all operations and the smooth running of the school, the academic achievement of its pupils and the management of its staff. Head teacher leads, motivates and manages staff by delegating responsibility, setting expectations and targets and evaluating staff performance against them.

 

To provide professional vision and leadership for the school which secures its success and improvement, ensuring high quality education for all its pupils and improved standards of learning and achievement.

 

Responsibilities

 

General Services

  • Leading the selection and appointment of the teaching and non-teaching staff of the school,
  • Deploying and managing all teaching and non-teaching staff of the school and allocating assigning the duties & responsibilities for each individual staff commensurate with the skill sets and abilities in line with the needs of School Curricula and Grades.
  • Ensuring that teachers at the school receive information they need to carry out their professional duties effectively
  • Leading, motivating, supporting, challenging and developing staff at all levels in order to secure and sustain continuous improvement
  • Providing information, references and testimonials about the work and performance of staff employed at the school where such information is relevant to their future employment.
  • Evaluating the standards of teaching and learning in the school, and ensuring that proper standards of professional performance are established and maintained.
  • Supervising and participating in arrangements for the appraisal of the performance of teachers in the school
  • Providing information about the work and performance of the staff employed at the school where this is relevant to their future employment.
  • Ensuring that the progress of students of the school is monitored and recorded
  • Ensuring continuing effective systems of planning, assessment, recording and reporting, using data and benchmarks to monitor attainment and progress, in every child’s learning
  • Making arrangements for parents to be given regular information about the school curriculum, the progress of their children and other matters affecting the school, so as to promote common understanding of its aims
  • Ensuring the health and safety of all children, staff, parents/careers and visitors.

Qualifications

  • Master of Education or equivalent
  • Min 5 years as Principal / Head of School.
  • Succesful experience in School leadership, ideally in an International School delivering IGCSE & the IB Program.

English as a Second or Other Language Coordinator

This is a newly created position and the successful applicant will act as an ESOL coordinator for P2 to Sec 4 students. We use GL Education CAT4 and NGRT standardised tests to evaluate the English ability of every student and those with a reading age more than 2 years lower than their chronological age will be enrolled in the ESOL program. The ESOL Coordinator will liaise with parents, form teacher, subject teachers and other ESOL teachers to provide carefully managed intervention plans through pull-out and after school classes. The ESOL Coordinator will teach many of these classes but will be supported by other English teachers as well.

Preschool Teacher Assistant (Local position)

Teacher assistants are a vital part of our Preschool program and the role is a good career path to becoming a teacher. Diligence and kindness are critical and the ability to hold simple conversations in English is essential.

Hinduism local teacher with Indonesian government teaching certification

We are looking for a local teacher with a relevant degree and certified by the Indonesian Ministry of Education to teach Hinduism. We will consider both full and part-time candidates and we will consider assisting with relocation.
