Overview

SIS Bona Vista is located in a popular area of South Jakarta, with many facilities in the area. At the school we offer a broad and balanced education that recognises the importance of academic success without underestimating the role that education plays in helping pupils to develop a wider understanding of themselves and others.

Our curriculum is based upon The Singapore Curriculum in our Primary Section,  the Cambridge International Curriculum in the Secondary Section and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is followed by our Junior College students. Our core programme also reflects the local needs of our student body. External Examinations are available at IGCSE and the IB Diploma Programme and student progression supported by Checkpoint tests.

Memberships & Affiliations; the school is in the process of seeking membership to the Council of International Schools (CIS). We are a Centre for Cambridge Assessment  International Examinations (CAIE) and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.

Head of English

We are seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Head of English to lead our motivated team. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the strategic leadership of this crucial area of the curriculum and fulfill a reduced teaching commitment within the Secondary and Junior College Sections. Additionally they will join a creative and supportive Middle Leadership Group, playing a key role in improvement of the school. All our teaching staff are expected to be fully involved in the life of the school.

 

This is an exciting time to join SIS Bona Vista and we welcome applications from either experienced Heads of Department or those who are perhaps looking for an opportunity to secure their initial management position. Ideal candidates will be well qualified Secondary teachers with a sound knowledge and understanding of effective teaching of English within the guidance the Cambridge International Education and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Extended Essay guidance and TOK experience would be a distinct advantage.

Key Requirements

English as a Second or Other Language Coordinator

This is a newly created position and the successful applicant will act as an ESOL coordinator for P2 to Sec 4 students. We use GL Education CAT4 and NGRT standardised tests to evaluate the English ability of every student and those with a reading age more than 2 years lower than their chronological age will be enrolled in the ESOL program. The ESOL Coordinator will liaise with parents, form teacher, subject teachers and other ESOL teachers to provide carefully managed intervention plans through pull-out and after school classes. The ESOL Coordinator will teach many of these classes but will be supported by other English teachers as well.

Lower Secondary Science Teacher

This position teaches General Science (Cambridge – Biology, Chemistry, Physics) to Secondary 1 or 2 classes  (repeated content). The goal is to prepare students for Cambridge Checkpoints at the end of Secondary 2 and for IGCSE individual sciences in Secondary 3-4. Developing laboratory skills is an important part of the job description along with being part of the annual STEM week program which sometimes includes science fairs.

Bahasa, PPKn and Hindu local teachers with Indonesian government teaching certification

We are looking for local teachers with a relevant degree and certified by the Indonesian Ministry of Education to teach Bahasa Indonesia (PGSD), PPKn and Hinduism. We will consider both full and part-time candidates.

Middle School Art Teacher (Local teacher)

Art program for Primary 5 to Secondary 2. This is a compulsory general course for all students and so the successful applicant will need to be able to effectively teach students art to a variety of talent levels using English as the language of instruction and be part of our strong and growing Art Department.

Preschool Teacher (Local teacher)
