A Historic Milestone: SIS Palembang Wins Big in Kuala Lumpur

What a journey it has been! As the Academic and MUN Counsellor, I am proud to share that our students have successfully made their mark on the international stage. This past January, a delegation from our school travelled to Kuala Lumpur for the Asia Youth International Model United Nations (AYIMUN). For the first time in our school’s history, two of our students earned the prestigious Best Delegate Award.

These core SIS values, combined with the guidance of our quality educators, empower students to transform from local learners into international achievers. A Strategic Roadmap for Student Excellence and Soft Skills

Our achievement in Kuala Lumpur was not a matter of luck. It was the outcome of a carefully planned, year-long effort to strengthen our students’ soft skills and diplomatic capabilities.

September 2025: Strengthening Global Partnerships.

We reaffirmed our dedication to global education by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Global Network.

October 2025: The First Step at AWMUN Bali.

Our students made their first appearance as a school delegation. While we did not secure awards, this “trial by fire” provided the essential experience needed to grow.

November 2025: Inclusivity via SIS Palembang MUN.

We organised our own internal conference to identify and develop local talent within a supportive learning environment.

This continuous progression ultimately led us to the podium in Malaysia. Witnessing their transformation from hesitant first-timers to influential voices in international councils is the ultimate reward for any educator.
