Celebrating Alvin Hew and Welcoming Aditya Bharat Shah at SIS Group
Alvin Hew’s six-year tenure marked a period of transformative growth for SIS. Joining as we celebrated our 20th anniversary in 2017, Alvin led the group through a rebranding and expansion phase. His leadership was pivotal during the Covid-19 pandemic. Working closely with SIS Founder, Jaspal Sidhu, and the SIS Leadership team, he steered the group through significant challenges to achieve unparalleled growth. His legacy includes the rebranding and repositioning of SIS South Jakarta, the new 2,000-student SIS Kelapa Gading campus in North East Jakarta, the first SIS Preschool, and a robust strategy and pathway for future expansion in Indonesia and regionally via partnerships.
Joining SIS amidst the pandemic challenges, Aditya absorbed the group’s culture through virtual interactions with only a few visits possible due to travel restrictions. His calm and empathetic approach has been instrumental in his rise to leadership. Aditya, a distinguished professional with prior experience at major accounting firms like KPMG and PwC, brings a unique blend of financial acumen and collaborative skills to SIS. He has been pivotal in enhancing the financial literacy of our head teachers, contributing significantly to our latest successful funding round with Adivira Capital, and has worked closely with Alvin towards this transition for the past year.
Aditya’s ability to make financial concepts accessible and engaging to all team members, regardless of their financial background, is commendable. Under his leadership, the SIS Group now operates schools in 13 locations across 10 cities and 4 countries, with a dedicated team of over 600 education professionals. Aditya won the Award for Outstanding Leadership from Education 2.0 in Dubai in 2022 and his recent recognition as one of Business Outreach magazine’s ’40 Under 40′1 is a testament to his professional and philanthropic impact globally.
