Student Reflections on the Upcoming SIS e-Olympics: Inclusivity, opportunities to showcase talents and great fun for students in the time of COVID-19
Written by Natalia Elyssa Chan
I thought that quarantine would wipe out any chance of having fun. It left me bored with nothing to do at home other than attempting to practice social distancing from my refrigerator, but SIS has proven me wrong.
When I first heard of the 2021 SIS e-Olympics, I was immediately captivated. Certain that it’d bring the lively mood and vibrant ambience that I’ve missed from being at school physically, I cannot think of a better opportunity for my friends and I to socialize, showcase our talents and have an exhilarating time.
Although the necessity of having this event online makes it slightly harder to interact with one another, I personally feel that the experience will be more inclusive. It will take away travel limitations and expenses, thus welcoming anyone interested to participate in the comfort and safety of their own homes.
I am in eager anticipation of this exciting event. The current pandemic surely has caused drastic changes to our everyday lives, but it can’t stop us from having a good time!
